Qualification - All participants shall bowl 9 (nine) games qualifying, in 3 (three) blocks of 3 (three) games each.
- Three series shall be bowled on 1 (one) day.
- ‘A’ squads bowl at 9.30, 12.10 and 15.35, ‘B’ squads at 10.50, 14.15 and 17.05.
- Lanes will redressed at 13.30 on days when 2 squads play.
- The leading two bowlers on each day are guaranteed places on Finals Day.
On the days when only one squad is scheduled you will bowl 9 (nine) games straight through, starting at 10.50, but with a break after 6 (six) games for lunch.
Who qualifies for Finals Day?
- Fort Eight (48) bowlers will qualify in four different ways:-
- Group 1
Sixteen (16) bowlers with the highest total pin fall over nine (9) games (including all bonus). - Group 2
Up to sixteen (16) bowlers with the highest total pin fall over nine (9) games (including all bonus), but must include any daily winners/runners up, not already seeded 1-16. - Group 3
Eight (8) bowlers with the best three (3) game series (including all bonus), not included in group 1 or 2. - Group 4
Eight (8) bowlers with the best single game (including all bonus), not included in group 1, 2 or 3.
In the event of a bowler not being on time for a match, the place will be allocated to the highest non-qualifying 9 game total. Qualifying players numbers- Group 1
Player no 1-16 will receive a bye for Round One and will be seeded not to play each other in Round Two - Group 2
Player no 17- 32 will be seeded not to play each other in Round One - Group 3/4
Player no 33-48 will be play against Group 2 in Round One drawn at random 20.00 on Sunday 24th August 2008 It is the responsibility of all finalists to check their squad time and must be available for registration at 09.00 Monday 25th August 2008.
Finals Day format- Round 1
GROUP 2/3/4 will play a best of 3 games matches against each other in Round 1 - Random Draw. (See Rule 8) - Round 2
All remaining bowlers (Group 1 and winners from Group 2/3/4) will play a two (2) game series head to head knockout. Double Elimination. Winners progress to next round. Losers progress to 1st Round of Losers Section.
Stepladder finals Match 1: Two remaining players in Losers Section will bowl a two (2) game match to decide 4th Place. Match 2: Winner of Match 1 will play the loser of the Winners’ Section to decide 3rd Place. The Final Winner of Match 2 will play the Winner of the Winners’ section to decide 1st and 2nd Places. If the winner of the Winners’ Section should lose the final, a second match will be played. Tournament Tie Rules Qualifying - Ties will be decided by best high game, then if necessary next best, etc. Finals Day - 9th/10th Frame roll-off. Player on left lane bowls 1st ball.
